What is the Disaster Prevention Team?
As you all know, Japan is an earthquake-prone country.
With a 70-80% probability of a Nankai Trough earthquake occurring within the next 30 years, many of you may have a sense of crisis about earthquakes.
However, there are many people who think that they should do something to prepare for the coming disaster, but don't know where to start.
As a result, 24 years have passed since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and in the Kansai region, we have begun to see a decline in the awareness of young people about disaster prevention and the weakness of the management of voluntary disaster prevention organizations.
We, the Kwansei Gakuin University's Kurita Seminar Disaster Prevention Team, are aware of the current state of regional disaster prevention and are working on a daily basis to strengthen disaster prevention in Kobe City in particular.
What is Smilocal Project?
We are a member of the Kurita Research Group, School of Economics, Kwansei Gakuin University.
The Kurita Research Group (seminar) is currently working on 10 community creation activities and has been working on this project, which started in 2018, under the name of Smilocal on a daily basis.
While our Disaster Prevention Group is currently working to strengthen local disaster prevention in Kobe City, the Smilocal Project has a wide range of themes, including environmental conservation in Sanda, traditional performing arts in Kyoto, and marginal villages in Sasayama, Tamba.
