Why is the Nankai megathrust earthquake so scary?

You can't stop the plates from moving.
Earthquakes at plate boundaries are accompanied by tsunamis.
A wide range of areas from the Kanto region to Kyushu were affected, and support will be dispersed.
There are few travel routes from the Pacific coast to the interior of the country.
No progress in quake-resistant housing and eliminating dense wooden areas
Relocation of hospitals, schools and welfare facilities in coastal areas has not progressed
